Scholarships
PACE
was the first privately funded scholarship program in Ohio and the 33rd
in the United States. Today, in Ohio there are programs in Cincinnati
and Toledo.
In the
first year of PACE Scholarships, 3,000 applications were received and
542 PACE Scholarships were awarded.
In 1999
5,000 applications were received and 852 PACE Scholarships were awarded.
This was accomplished as a result of PACE becoming a partner program of
the Children’s Scholarship Fund, a national program out of New York
City, which assists in helping provide over 40,000 scholarships
nationwide.
New
scholarships have been added as funds become available. In order to be
in a position to receive a scholarship a parent or guardian must come to
the PACE office and sign up to be on the wait list. It is from this list
that new recipients are chosen.
All
scholarships are awarded based upon financial need. Under the tab
“Annual Income Eligibility Scale” you can determine what amount you
could qualify to receive if your are selected.
Parents
who receive a scholarship can choose from any of the schools on our list
under the section “Parent Tools”. PACE is all about parent choice and
that is why the decision on where to take the scholarship is the
parent’s choice.
